Outreach

I have been active in a number of scientific outreach and scientific communication efforts over the years. In particular, a lot of my activity as a grad student then young postdoc focused on the Lutetium Project, which is described at length below.

In recent years, I have also penned a viewpoint for Physics magazine, and won the 2024 award for the best video submitted to the Gallery of Soft Matter created by the division of Soft Matter of the American Physical Society (APS DSOFT).

Some of my other recent video creations are available on the YouTube channel of the APS.

I am the co-founder and vice-president of The Lutetium Project, an outreach YouTube channel focused on visually striking experimental research. The Lutetium Project was also on Twitter.

Two videos were awarded the Milton Van Dyke Award of the Gallery of Fluid Motion by the APS. First, our video on Marangoni bursting got an award during the 70th annual meeting of the APSDFD in Denver, CO in 2017. Then, our video on impaled droplets got another award during the 72nd annual meeting of the APSDFD in Seattle, WA in 2019.

The Lutetium Project is also available in French on YouTube and Twitter.
